Who We May
Hold Documents For
Like any business, it’s common for law firms to merge or acquire other companies, or cease trading altogether. When this happens, the documents they store are sometimes transferred to other businesses.
As such, Thursfields may hold* documentation that was once held by firms no longer in existence, including some that we are not the successor practice for. These are:
- Luke Grant
- Challinors (White & Billingham) in Halesowen
- Elliott & Allen in Sedgley
- Milichips in Solihull
*not all documents were transferred and it cannot be assumed that we hold such documentation. Please contact us with details so that we can ascertain the position.
Retrieve Property Deeds
There are two ways in which you can retrieve your property deeds from Thursfields. The first is to make an appointment to visit us at our office in Kidderminster. You can also apply to retrieve your property deeds via post. However, please note that this service requires the arrangement of an electronic identification check and the payment of a £20 administration charge.
If you’d like to retrieve the documents we are holding for you, please fill in the contact form below and a member of our team will be in touch as soon as possible. This will either be to arrange a date and time for the in-person visit, or to go through the process if you would prefer for us to send your property deeds by post.
Property Deeds Retrieval Service
If you’d like to check if Thursfields is holding your property deeds, or you’d like to retrieve them, fill in the form below and we’ll be happy to assist.
Thursfields has retained property title deeds from a number of law firms that are no longer in existence, a list of which appears further up the page. If you believe we have yours, or you’d like to check, please complete the contact form and a member of our team will be able to help.
If you choose to visit our Kidderminster office to retrieve your property deeds, we will have your documentation ready for your arrival. Should you decide to use our postal service, you will typically receive your items within 15 business days.
If you’re unsure about who may have your title deeds, they could be held with the solicitor you instructed to purchase the property, or your mortgage provider if one was necessary. You can also check with the Land Registry to see if they have digital records of your property.
Wills & Power
of Attorney Retrieval
Much like we hold property deeds from law firms no longer in existence, we also look after wills and power of attorney documents as well. If you believe we may be in possession of yours, our team will be happy to help.
