About Richard
Richard has a strong specialism within the banking sector dealing with litigation on behalf of building societies both in the County Court and High Court.
Richard’s lender practice ranges from Claimant work in respect of professional negligence claims involving valuers or conveyancers; complex mortgage arrears cases involving issues such as undue influence, misrepresentation, unfair relationships and/or breaches of MCOB and recovering mortgage shortfalls on behalf of lenders – which tend to be defended on the basis of a sale at undervalue and/or limitation.
Richard also acts on behalf of lenders in relation to defended Claims for such matters as financial mis-selling of investment products and is generally adept with claims that have a financial service element to the dispute and has been instructed in respect of claims involving IFA’s.
Notwithstanding his lender practice Richard also acts on behalf of individuals and business in relation to high valued debt recovery; fraud cases – usually involving automated push payment scams; proprietary estoppel claims – usually in relation to property disputes between family members; general commercial contract disputes; the removal of trespassers from land and boundary disputes; both the obtaining and defending injunctions and the obtaining of Civil Restraint Orders.
Finally, Richard has vast experience of enforcement of Judgments.
