Thursfields solicitors reach finals of new regional business awards

Thursfields Solicitors has reached the inaugural finals of a new regional business awards programme, reflecting its top performance both as an employer and in the community.

Thursfields is shortlisted in two categories of what will be the annual North Worcestershire Business Awards for Best Contribution to the Community and Best Employer of the Year, the black-tie awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 28 November at Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel in Kidderminster, hosted by BBC TV presenter Joanne Malin.

The awards’ judges said: “The finalists reflect an impressive range of businesses, all showcasing products and services that really stand out. They are a credit to North Worcestershire.”

Nick O’Hara, Managing Director of Thursfields Solicitors, said: “We’re delighted to have been named as finalists in two categories at these prestigious new awards.

Thursfields focuses hard on attracting and retaining the best staff in the sector, and makes huge efforts to be involved in both business and community projects across the region.

It’s important to us to make Thursfields Solicitors a firm anyone would be proud to work for and one that clients recognise not only for our expertise but also as a one that plays a big part in the area.

We’ve found that these aspirations work well together, both promoting opportunities for our staff and giving something back to the people who live in the areas where we work.”

Thursfields employs around 155 staff in offices across Worcestershire and the wider West Midlands, including Kidderminster, Worcester, Stourport-on Severn, Halesowen, Sedgley, Birmingham and Solihull.

Nick added: “It means a lot to us to be recognised by the local business community and we’re looking forward to the awards ceremony next month.”

The North Worcestershire Business Awards will celebrate the rising stars of the region in six categories: Best Start-up Business, Best Contribution to the Community, Best Customer Service, Outstanding Entrepreneur, Best Employer and Innovation of the Year.

They have been organised by two respected local organisations: North Worcestershire Economic Development and Regeneration (NWedR), which is the shared local authority service representing Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest, and North Worcestershire Business Leaders (NWBL).

Jane Doyle, speaking for NWedR, said: “We would like to congratulate all those who have been named as finalists. It’s great to see this event being brought to life with excellent entries from across Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest.”

Melanie Hawkett, founder of the NWBL, added: “Congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted for this year’s awards ceremony.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic event in November and we’re setting the scene for businesses large and small to showcase their products and services and, most of all, their amazing employees that make success possible.”
