Thursfields Solicitors Spreads Festive Cheer with “12 Days of Giving” Campaign

Thursfields Solicitors have welcomed the spirit of Christmas this year by participating in a charitable “12 Days of Giving” initiative. From December 1st to the 12th, they donated £1,000 per day to a range of local and national charities.

Chosen as the firm’s charity of the year at the beginning of 2023, Alzheimer’s Research UK received £1,000 on both the first and twelfth day of the campaign. The remaining charities chosen for donations were nominated by the firm’s staff members and included St Richards Hospice, JDRF Type 1 Diabetes, The Good Soil Project, Social Life Opportunities (SolO), The British Heart Foundation, The Brain Tumour Charity, NRAS | Rheumatoid Arthritis Charity, The Cedar Tree Trust, The Dudley Group NHS Charity, and Midlands Langar Seva Society.

Dani James, Business Development and Marketing Partner said “During this important time of year when giving to others is fundamental, I feel a sense of pride in leading a campaign for such important causes. The charities selected by our colleagues hold a personal significance, and I am honoured to be part of a team that can aid and support these charities. Leading up to Christmas, we have been using our social media platforms to convey the motivations behind these nominations, allowing our colleagues to share their narratives and connections to the selected charities.”

Some of the reasons for charity choices are shown below:

  • “Because of the research of the British Heart Foundation and other heart charities, my father was given extra years, and my sister continues to benefit from their research and efforts.”

  • “I nominate JDRF, a charity funding type 1 diabetes research and offering support to individuals affected by it. My youngest sister was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 5. JDRF volunteers provided child-friendly resources, such as books and toys, to help my sister comprehend her diagnosis and its impact on her life, which greatly supported her and our family.”

  • My Aunt heads the Worcester NRAS group, where local RA patients find support and care. She has battled with RA since she was 21 and has always faced pain and the use of pins. Her positive attitude and NRAS have played a crucial role in her journey.”

  • St Richards Hospice cared for my Grandad before he passed away in 2015, just five days before my 18th birthday. In his last moments, the hospice staff helped my family decorate his room with balloons and banners. They even allowed me to light candles, so I could celebrate my 18th a little early and share a moment with him.”

Shane Miller, Shareholder, and Head of Family Law said “We were delighted to raise awareness and offer our support to the chosen charities. During the Christmas season, our goal was to make a positive impact and contribute to important causes. With the assistance of our staff, we were able to add a personal touch to our charity choices and create a meaningful impact.”
