Conveyancer 6 years + PQE

Our successful residential property department seeks an experienced conveyancing lawyer to join its friendly and supportive team in Kidderminster.

The Role

You will: 

  • Handle all types of residential property transactions; including sales, purchases, transfers of equity, re-mortgages, equity release and lease extensions;
  • Deal with Shared Ownership transactions and Help to Buy and Lifetime ISA’s;
  • Generate new clients through internal referrals, collaboration, networking and word of mouth;
  • Ensure client communication is proactive, professional and leads to satisfied clients; assisting with enquiries from clients, Solicitors and Estate Agents on the telephone, in person or via email/web enquiries and take ownership of any follow up action required;
  • Comply with the lender’s requirements at all times relating to panel membership;
  • Proactively identify and initiate additional complementary services to add value to client transactions.

 Qualifications/Training

Essential:

  • A qualified residential property conveyancer e.g. Solicitor/CILEX;
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in their area of expertise;
  • Experience and a keen interest in business development.

Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

  • Good knowledge in a wide range of UK residential property law issues;
  • Knowledge and experience of advising in relation to sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold residential property, auction sales and purchases, re-mortgages, Help to Buy transactions and transfers of equity including managing client and lender requirements;
  • The candidate must demonstrate enthusiasm and experience/knowledge in business development, including building and maintaining strong client and referrer relationships.

Skills/Abilities

Essential:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to deliver a strongly client-focussed service, giving timely practical legal solutions to client problems;
  • Work with paperless files;
  • A team player working within a team of experienced Conveyancers and support colleagues;
  • Ability to handle own caseload independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to organise own files and supervise support staff to ensure efficient delivery of service;
  • Take responsibility for financial management of own files, record time and ensure all bills are delivered and followed up in an efficient manner;
  • Good IT and word processing skills;
  • Ability to use the firm’s case management system to best effect in order to manage their case load (training will be provided);
  • The ability to identify and initiate cross selling opportunities;
  • Ability to work under pressure.
